What is hydro therapy & Infrared Sauna?

Soaking in hot or Cold water and immersion with heat. We call it the three dip method utilizing cold or hot water from our outdoor solar shower & going into a hot deep bath whirlpool pure water jacuzzi or infrared sauna with the good UV heat waves.

The heat from infrared sauna is gentle and becomes apparent after 15-20 mins where you begin to sweat toxins out from the organs of the body.  It is very gentle and good for the heart and the lungs.  Traditional saunas will reheat the sweat that goes back into the body sometimes therefore not releasing toxins and also very intense on the body systems. Great for lungs and inflammation as well as weight loss.  Fantastic for any smoking cessation or diet allowing the body to equalize, help you sleep better, and quit those cravings!

How does hydro therapy & infrared sauna work?

Hydro therapy with therapeutic grade aromatherapy (Bungalow) is in oxygenated pure water that in turn oxygenates the muscles including sprains or inflammation of the body.  Really works well for neck, hips, lower back pain, shoulders, and feet but can also stimulate the loss of weight on the stomach area. This is the spa owner's closest and dearest, call that she can recreate in LA to bring forth the therapeutic benefits of our natural origins in California, the precious hot springs, far away.

The Spa Wellness Mansion is also eco friendly and the water is recycled and purified while overlooking the pool and mountain vistas in a private setting.

Your spa therapist will ask you to complete a pre-treatment health questionnaire (if necessary). Avoid eating a heavy meal or drinking alcohol prior to the treatment.

You can read more about the history of hydro therapy on our blog.

Benefits of Cedar Infrared ?

Detoxification: Over 5000 individuals involved in the 9/11 World Trade Center disaster successfully detoxified using far-infrared saunas.

Mechanism: Infrared light heats objects instead of the air, differing from traditional saunas. This method saves time and doesn't expose the respiratory system to high heat.

•    Calorie Burning: A moderately conditioned person can burn around 300 kcal in a sauna, while a heat-conditioned person can burn 600-800 kcal.
•    Health Benefits:
◦    Effective for toxin removal, muscle growth, and cellulite reduction.
◦    Beneficial for cancer patients by increasing oxygenation.
◦    Speeds up healing and is effective for various conditions like varicose veins, metal implants, hypertension, and diabetes.
•    Temperature: Traditional saunas typically range from 169 to 190°F (76 to 88°C), sometimes exceeding 200°F (93°C).
•    Traditional Use: Water is thrown on hot stones for a "steam shock," and herbs or oils like eucalyptus may be added. Skin may be beaten with branches.
•    Wood Choice: Cedar is recommended for saunas due to its durability, antimicrobial properties, and resistance to heat and moisture. It is also known for not overheating and being water repellent.

When the heat becomes intolerable, cold shower on in the garden by the orange trees, but in Finland, you cool down by  jumping into a frozen lake for traditional saunas.  We have a cold plunge too.

One of the ways that infrared sauna is beneficial for a wide range of ailments is through the increase in circulation that it causes in the body with increased circulation which is often believed to be helpful in a variety of ways, and is generally regarded as beneficial for health.

The After an initial warming up period, the body begins its return to cooling off the process of perspiration. Three things are accomplished during this phase,  relaxing deeply into a comfortable heat.

Waste products and toxins such as nicotine and heavy metals are removed from the cells and excreted through the pores of the skin. The skin sheds any old skin cells leaving it glowing and immaculately clean. As the body expends energy to produce sweat, the heart beats harder and faster, which has a conditioning effect on the cardiovascular system plus is an effective weight control for people who can't exercise.

The infrared sound is 20-30 minutes well spent supporting the natural detoxification systems of the body First, the temperature that the traditional sauna needs to reach for your body to sweat is way too high to safely handle for any extended period of time.

This is the exact opposite of what you could expect from using an infrared sauna because the infrared heat penetrates the body much deeper (up to 3-4 inches)therefore detoxing the organs of the body. while a traditional sauna reaches only 1/8th of an inch. Infrared Saunas traditional are wonderful as you can't help but feel comfortable and breathe a little easier. Our Infrared Sauna is under a gazebo in our orchard area, great for watching the wild birds or Tarzana & Encino.  Yes they filmed Tarzan here!

Doctors typically say that anything longer than 20 minutes at those high temperatures for traditional sauna is not good for your body. In fact, it could actually be putting a strain on your heart. Many doctors are starting to recommend infrared saunas to their patients for many ailments.  Another amazing advantage of this deep penetrating heat is its ability to detoxify the body. By detoxifying the body of these pollutants we are able to stop them from accumulating in our system and in doing so prevent possible disease and premature aging of our skin, body and mind. At the same time which keeps us running at our peek.
